Identifying the MGA 1600

There are only five variations of the MGA:

The 1500, 1600, MKII, Twin Cam and the 1600 MKII De Luxe.

The three major MGA models may be readily identified by their grille, front- and taillamps
as well as their engine displacement badge.

A 1600 is differentiated by the dual rear lamp with separate turn lamps, larger round parking lamps at the front with flat lenses and a "1600" marker on the shroud and boot lid.
The Lockheed disc brakes on the front greatly improved stopping power.
The starter position was moved with the resulting hump on the passenger toe board.
The ignition coil was mounted onto a bracket on the engine mounting.
Standard the bolt-on disc wheels with hub caps were mounted, wire wheels were always optional.
